ᐅ What is a realistic price for a satellite system including installation?

Hello everyone,

I would like to get a rough idea of what to expect when installing a satellite dish system.
It will probably be an Astro 85cm (33 inches) dish, just for Astra. A splitter for up to 16 receivers.
Basically, the dish should be mounted, aligned, and the cable routed through the roof, since the splitter will be located in the attic under the roof.
A roof flashing or something similar will also be needed.

What have your experiences or quotes been?
I will handle running the cables from the splitter to the receivers myself.

Are we looking at a total cost of around 500 €, 1500 €, or even more?
I don’t really have a sense for this yet.

Best regards,
Tito

The comment about expensive LNBFs and satellite dishes comes from TV salespeople.
Our dish and LNBF together cost less than 60 euros. When the technician came for installation, it was clear to him why no one buys their expensive equipment. The performance values were better than those of his expensive LNBF.

Well, then I have nothing to "add" to this post, since it’s full of penny pinchers. (for a 60 Euro LNB and dish)

I still find the car comparison very appropriate.......

You have to know for yourself what it’s "worth" to you. Of course, going cheap works too, just like with a car, by the way. (KIA even offers a 5-year warranty!)

We paid nearly €700 for an 85 cm (33 inch) branded satellite dish, a multiplexer, and various satellite outlets / twin satellite outlets (in almost every room, sometimes even double). Everything inclusive of installation.

@Barossi is not a nitpicker. The digital principle is quite simple and is based on zeros and ones. That’s why Alex’s comparison to gold cables was very fitting.
And as I also said, what use is a mirror costing several hundred euros? They all do the same thing [emoji6]

Have you ever held a Kathrein dish in your hands? (Fully galvanized mechanics...)

Three large satellite dishes in red, white, and grey on support arms with mounts

Do you stroke your satellite dish every day? No offense, maybe the quality really is better (thicker sheet metal, etc.), but why? The supposed cheap products last more than 10 years, cost a fraction, and perform the same. If reception is there, reception is there. Period. The Kathrein dish does not improve your TV experience in any way. What you end up with is a bill twice as high and the good feeling of having something fancy on your roof.
