Hello everyone, I recently bought an Ikea Hemnes chest of drawers and installed the drawers during assembly. Unfortunately, they don’t slide in and out properly; they stick and get caught at certain points. The drawer runners are installed correctly, and the wood doesn’t seem warped. My question is: What can I do if Ikea Hemnes drawers don’t slide smoothly? Are there common issues or adjustment tips I might have missed? I would appreciate any help!
In addition to inspecting the rails, I recommend checking the drawer itself for correct assembly. In particular, the back panel, which is sometimes not perfectly square, can cause stress on the drawer. Also, no excessive pressure should be applied when inserting the drawer. Remove it, check it, then reinsert.
