Hello everyone,
I need your help.
I have just sanded about 40m² (430 sq ft) of oak parquet flooring and now want to either wax or oil it.
Which product is easier for a non-professional to apply? Also, some of the wooden elements have shifted, creating gaps. Can I repair these now—and if so, with what? Hard wax, or a mixture of sanding dust and wood glue or acrylic varnish?
Who can advise me?
Best regards

Hello
I recommend oiling, for example with Woca wood floor oil. This oil is also used by some parquet manufacturers. It is easy and quick to apply, and the surface remains natural. In case of partial repairs to the floor, it is absolutely unproblematic; with lacquer, it becomes more critical. I have also used an Osmo wax-oil mixture (I don’t remember the exact name right now). It was not bad, but today I would only use pure oil. How wide are the gaps? Be careful when filling them with a paste! Usually, after a winter, that material crumbles out slowly again and new cracks form.

I haven’t checked in here for a while 😉
So, I treated the parquet with this WOCA wood floor oil. I’m not a professional, but I must say it worked really well! It requires some skill and the right equipment, but it’s definitely possible for a DIYer.
