We are close to the handover stage, and after several on-site discussions, the tiling work has been completed. In the guest bathroom and utility room, everything is acceptable except for minor issues. However, from our perspective, the other bathroom is a disaster. They had to start over three times due to errors, and eventually, they knocked down the entire bathroom in one day. First, the wrong tiles were installed, then the tile offset was not respected, and now this. Tomorrow, I have a meeting with the head of the tilers and our construction manager. Unfortunately, I’m not sure what I have to accept and what I shouldn’t. So, a few extra opinions would be very helpful...
On the third attempt, everything was grouted, and the supervisor instructed the team that silicone should be applied between the tiles and the bathtub, for example. Instead of removing the tiles or taking other proper measures, they used a grinder. There are still residues from grouting visible in some places.
By the way, these are far from all the problem areas….

The curious thing is that the utility room and guest bathroom don’t look anything like this. There are no visible cut edges or strange grout patterns... Oh man, tomorrow could be interesting. I’m someone who doesn’t need everything to be perfect and accept that it’s craftsmanship. But there’s a limit for me. I really don’t know how they want to fix all this without starting from scratch. As mentioned, this isn’t even everything.

The cutouts for the concealed shower valve are so large that the cover plate doesn’t fully cover them. The plate stays in place, but the cuts extend 1–2cm (0.4–0.8 inches) beyond it.
Some tiles are chipped, and the damage has been covered over with silicone.
Corners of the rails were hammered at an angle.
The slope within the shower directs water toward the center as intended, but the very next tile tilts slightly away from the drain... Although I’m not sure yet if this is actually incorrect. There are probably tolerances.

Apparently, the tiler was sick and his substitute accidentally did it correctly because he didn’t know his colleague had such a creative working style. That can happen sometimes.
