I recently bought a house from the mid-19th century. Unfortunately, quite a bit was "renovated poorly" in the 1950s and 60s. Since the bathroom needs a complete renovation, I would like to adapt it somewhat to the general style of the rest of the house.
Of course, it should still be modern and, above all, accessible, but in terms of design and color, I would at least like to have tiles that fit the style. The house is located in East Frisia and is a typical brick building, with red and yellow, about 15x15cm (6x6 inches), solid-colored tiles in the hallway, bordered with black tiles. I don’t know if those are original, but right now the bathroom is dominated by baby pink and light blue 🙄
Does anyone here have experience with tiles from that period and know what colors and styles would be appropriate?

What style concept do you and your budget have in mind for the interior spaces? Should the house feature a modern design, or do you prefer the original period style of the building?
