MaxMustaman9224 Jul 2023 08:17Hello,
since many of you recently gave some really good advice regarding my dishwasher door, I would like to ask for your suggestions on an issue that has been bothering me for quite some time. We have had an underground electrical cable installed outside, under the carport, with the end currently lying on the paved area. It is basically a spare electrical cable for future use, which we don’t need at the moment.
My problem is that this cable lies between our brick-clad house wall and our car. There is only about 1 meter (3 feet) of space at most between the car and the house wall. The cable significantly obstructs the passage, including the access to the storage room at the back (wooden door in the photo).
Because the cable is relatively stiff and cannot be bent much more than it already is in its coiled state, it cannot simply be placed against the house wall on the right side. The cable keeps falling towards the car and does not stay in its maximally coiled shape.
Do you have an idea how I can store or fasten the cable as compactly as possible? I would prefer not to drill anything for a mount.

You’ve already eliminated everything, so what else is left?
Remove the paving and lay it in the ground. Cut it off. Actually, just hang it on the wall (the most obvious solution). Unroll it and lay it along the house wall on the ground.
Or really put the cable to use now, for example by installing a wallbox or at least a CEE socket on the wall first.
By the way, that spot right under the window is generally a bad position. It’s too low for a wallbox.

Run the cable into a (sub)distribution junction box at any desired location on the wall, cut it to length, and attach Wago connectors. Personally, I would install the cable in conduit up to that point.
Then, once the requirements are clear, you can build out from there accordingly.

Install everything in one continuous flexible conduit and run it up to the underside of the carport roof. Secure it there. Whether I would actually "hide" such a length there…?
I also stored my "spare" cable inside a conduit pipe and tucked it under the carport roof. But only a few centimeters (not several meters) anymore. 😉
