Herr Stein29 Jun 2021 18:30Hello everyone,
we are currently gathering initial quotes for our terrace. It will be a WPC (wood-plastic composite) terrace. Now we need to decide whether to install only a dimpled membrane against the exterior wall or if applying a bitumen coating would be beneficial with the colored textured plaster. The second decision concerns the substructure: robinia wood or an aluminum framework. Are there any experiences regarding this?
Thank you very much

Herr Stein1 Jul 2021 11:30The terrace will be 4 x 7.5 m (13 x 25 feet). The plot is rectangular, 20 x 40 m (66 x 131 feet). We liked WPC for its appearance and barefoot feel.

We found WPC appealing both in appearance and the barefoot feel. We have it as well, for the second time now.
The boards have a closed joint, which makes it look like a ship deck.
The base consists of compacted recycled material, with L-shaped edging stones at the perimeter and grass grid stones. On top of that, WPC beams are fastened with dowels, and the decking boards are secured with stainless steel clips and screws.
Nothing grows through, and nothing shifts.
