Hello everyone,

We will soon decide how to build our terrace and driveway.

We have no ideas yet and are a bit in the dark.

Especially regarding the terrace... what would be the best option? (Costs?, Maintenance?, Durability?)

Best regards, Barossi

Well, for a "yellow/red/sand"-colored brick, I definitely wouldn’t have chosen "anthracite/gray" paving. Simply because of that strong contrast.

BUT!: It really has to appeal to you. The only way is to think it through and, if necessary, actually lay out both options for about a meter (3 feet).

Because of the contrast, I think the border made with a row of stones works better.

The paving color looks good – it complements the roof. We really like some of the elements so far! Others will probably take a little getting used to.
Once it’s finished, I’ll take a few more photos.

I like the bricks. I prefer the darker stones rather than the red ones. The gravel edging also looks nice, but I would have left it out directly at the house.

The granite edging around the house is now removed as well – the transition feels a bit sharp. Let’s see how it looks once the plants are in place.

What are you doing with the 10 meters (33 feet) of granite now? Is the width of the granite the same as the brick cladding, or how did you manage that? It probably wasn’t easy to replace. Do you have a picture of the "sharp transition"? (From where to where? House wall to paved area?) Ideally with the stepping surface facing inward (floor-to-ceiling window)

Degrees in progress. I’ll gladly post it later. Yes, fortunately, it’s the same size as the bricks – so the replacement was quite simple. I would think the landscaper will take any leftovers.
