Where the stones meet the house directly, I would leave out the granite.

But as mentioned earlier:
it is absolutely a matter of personal taste and has to please you.
Just try replacing a few stones and see how it looks.

We tried it yesterday evening with 3 stones – somehow it looked better. So it will be replaced accordingly.

Something like this can never be "objectively ugly" – it’s your house, and it only needs to please you. Would you really let a few posts from random forum users decide that?

Hardly anyone here will comment if they fundamentally don’t like it.
Even acquaintances will be reluctant to criticize stones already laid or ordered.

So in the end, it’s your style, and if you like it—you’re not alone—then that’s what matters.

The tip about the idea of a visual separation is a good one.

I would have expected something a bit more linear in your house design, just to mention in passing.
