lgrs1993Hello everyone,
After being a quiet reader for some time, I have now registered myself.
Our construction will start in late summer this year in SH, and we are currently finalizing the planning.
We are especially focused on the design of the staircase. I have attached an image showing a rough idea of what we envision for our new stairs.
I have two questions:
1. Does anyone have suggestions on where to order a staircase like this?
2. Does anyone know if and how the lower part (up to and including the landing) could be built by ourselves?
I appreciate any ideas.
Thanks and best regards

1. Does anyone have an idea of where to order a staircase like this? Officially, nowhere, because the upper part of the staircase is prohibited according to the state building code in Schleswig-Holstein. A railing is legally required there.

2. Does anyone have an idea if and how the lower part (including the landing) can be built by oneself? - Wooden substructure. Then work with panels and finish nicely. Depending on the load, drywall panels, MDF, or similar materials can be used.
- Have it shuttered by the builder and poured in concrete.
- Build with aerated concrete blocks (e.g., Ytong) or similar, then plaster, tile, or finish the surface.
The steps themselves can be obtained either online or from your trusted carpenter or timber supplier.

Construction starting in four months, but the building permit / planning permission can’t have been submitted yet (since a plan without a staircase probably won’t be accepted), that sounds rather unrealistic.https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/
