Hello everyone,
I am currently working on optimizing my Kallax shelves and am considering installing drawer inserts in the compartments to make them easier to use. My main question is: Which drawer inserts generally work best with Kallax, especially regarding stability, material quality, and ease of use?
I am particularly interested in inserts that are really durable for everyday use and do not start sticking or warping after a short time. I would appreciate recommendations on specific manufacturers, models, or material types, as well as any experiences with installation or modifications.
Thank you very much for your help!

For the weight category in my case, these are more than sufficientExactly, that is a crucial point when it comes to drawer slides: the load.
If the drawer is only used for lighter items like textiles or paper, plastic solutions often work without any issues. But with heavier loads or frequent openings per day, it becomes quickly noticeable when the smoothness of operation deteriorates.
Hello everyone,
from my experience, I would like to add the following: Make sure to set the dimensions of the drawer slides correctly. The cabinet can vary slightly in height and width, so the rails need to be perfectly adjusted. Otherwise, shelves or drawers will start to stick, regardless of whether they are metal or plastic.
The installation of the screws is also important: tight, but not too tight, to avoid damaging the material.
If you have children, I also recommend choosing smooth-running rails without sharp edges, as this reduces the risk of injuries.
Best regards

Installing the screws is important: tight, but not too tightI can only confirm that. Over-tightening on my end once caused the insert to warp and something got stuck. Sometimes it takes a bit of fiddling and trying until everything runs smoothly.
\- Great thread, really glad you brought up this topic, REBERU! I hope you find the right inserts for your needs 🙂
