ᐅ Shelves from IKEA ALBERT – Can They Be Assembled Without a Drill?

mallardHello,
I purchased an Albert shelf, and the assembly instructions state that only a screwdriver is needed to put the shelf together. However, none of the crossbars or shelves have holes on the sides for the screws.
Is this a mistake, or if not, how is it supposed to be assembled without a drill?
Thanks for your help!

The screws are self-tapping – since you are screwing into end grain wood, it is relatively easy. Still, please use an appropriate screwdriver to avoid stripping the heads.
Good luck,
