I have a question about the Engan bed. Is it possible to use the bed properly without the legs? It shouldn’t really make a difference, right?
Thank you all (:

If you add an angle bracket in the corner, it works, but without the angle bracket, it doesn’t.

Schattenkind17 Feb 2010 21:25Could you please explain exactly how it would work? What would I need to get? Unfortunately, I’m not skilled in DIY at all ):.
Edit: You mean because the angle bracket and the leg are welded together? So I would need four angle brackets from the hardware store that have the correct spacing between the screws and the edge? (Finding such angle brackets is almost impossible, right?)
Would that cause any issues with the slatted frame? I just don’t want the slatted frame to rest directly on the floor ^^.

Maverick185417 Feb 2010 21:45You would need standard metal brackets, which you can find at any hardware store. At least 4, but 8 would be better. Use 2 brackets in each corner and fasten them with regular wood screws, but be careful that the screws are not too long. That’s basically it. The best way is to assemble the bed frame first, then install the brackets, place the slatted frame on top, and you’re done.

Maverick185418 Feb 2010 08:48Regarding the slatted frame:
You have 3 height options for the rails on which the slatted frame can rest. I would first try the lowest height. But just take a look at the assembly instructions on Ikea’s website. Here is the page where you can find the instructions.
Question 1:
Yes.
Question 2:
Yes, because otherwise you would have to pre-drill holes. (Wood screws are included, but they don’t have a pointed tip to cut in by themselves)
Question 4:
Yes.

Wouldn't it also be possible to simply saw off the legs with a hacksaw?
