Hello
I need your advice.
Two weeks ago, in a moment of madness, I insisted on oiling my parquet floor. Since my Bauwerk oil was either used up or too old, I quickly bought the Micolor parquet oil at Migros. Bad mistake... It’s sticky, stains, and looks extremely greasy. Even after cleaning it three times with a heavy-duty cleaner, which I have applied undiluted in some spots, it hasn’t improved much. Does anyone here have any advice on what I can do next? I also have a floor polishing machine. I’m wondering if I should simply go over it dry with the white polishing pad and then reapply the Bauwerk oil? Or do you have a better suggestion?
I have already contacted Migros to complain about such a poor product. But the damage is done for now...

It seems the product was not applied quite correctly; if the oil is sticky and greasy-looking, this indicates that too much oil was applied.
One way to fix this is to remove the excess oil using cotton cloths – if that no longer works, treat the surface again with citrus peel oil using a floor machine with green pads or polishing pads – afterwards, you can oil it again and work it in with white pads.

Hello
The oil is labeled so that one bottle should cover 20m² (215 sq ft). I oiled about 80m² (860 sq ft) using roughly 80% of a bottle, so I think I applied it very sparingly. I applied it with a floor polishing machine and tried to spread it evenly. I have oiled my floor several times before, so it shouldn’t be an issue with maneuvering. I also used the basic cleaner in its pure form, which is effective, but I am afraid to apply as much as I probably would need to really get rid of the greasy spots. There is one especially unpleasant spot that is right in the main field of view. I will now try to work on that further.
What happens if I now apply the quality construction oil on top? Will the greasy layers then be permanently polished in?
Thank you very much for your help!

if the oil was applied correctly, another possible cause could be the different composition of the oils; the existing oil does not harmonize with the new oil.
Bauwerk itself already offers different oils that do not work well together, for example their water-based Rustik oil must only be renewed using the same oil.
This could be another solution approach: to check the compatibility of the oils.

Thank you for giving this so much thought.
I believe you are absolutely right. Wood treated with Bauwerk products will not be compatible with Micolor. I will now follow this plan: as soon as I have purchased the product, I will treat the worst-affected area with the appropriate Micolor solvent. Maybe that will help. Then I will lightly pre-treat the entire floor with the white pad. After that, I will impregnate it with Bauwerk oil. I hope this will restore the usual beauty of my parquet floor.
I wish you a pleasant day!
