Hello.
We are looking for a supplier of precast concrete garages as a large single garage with one door.
Has anyone here had such a garage built or installed?
Which supplier did you use? What were the costs?
So far, we have shortlisted two "affordable" companies with quotes around 16,000 euros each. Three other quotes range from 18,000 to 25,000 euros.
We want one door with two remote controls, an electrical package with several sockets, two light fixtures, no door and no window. Everything in white. Roof coating, sectional door, M-rib Woodgrain finish, automatic door opener, and drainage included. Delivery and installation on strip foundations supplied by us.
Looking forward to tips and recommendations...
Have a nice evening...

OK, true, that clearly puts you in the four-figure range. In theory, we could have completely done without it and placed the garage directly on the basement structure. But since I didn’t want to take the risk with that load, we decided to use the crane after all.

By the way, it was the same crane used for setting our house. According to my construction manager, the prices for these 60-ton (approximately 66 US tons) cranes are around 90€-120€ net per hour, plus possible travel charges, with one hour each for setup and dismantling.

Some people build a house using timber frame construction.

Hmm, they ripped you off. Our house was placed by a crane that could operate on its own without an escort vehicle.

No, definitely not. A 60-ton crane was sufficient for our house as well. It also carried its counterweights on board.

The 130-ton crane (I double-checked the invoice) that we used for the oversized garage is not allowed to travel with its counterweights, as it would otherwise exceed the weight limits set by the traffic regulations significantly.

Why was such a large crane needed? A concrete basement ceiling probably weighs twice as much. And it has to be lifted over a radius of 10–15 meters (33–49 feet).

Do you all have only prefabricated houses? Why didn’t you have the garage built with masonry?
