Hello.
We are looking for a supplier of precast concrete garages as a large single garage with one door.
Has anyone here had such a garage built or installed?
Which supplier did you use? What were the costs?
So far, we have shortlisted two "affordable" companies with quotes around 16,000 euros each. Three other quotes range from 18,000 to 25,000 euros.
We want one door with two remote controls, an electrical package with several sockets, two light fixtures, no door and no window. Everything in white. Roof coating, sectional door, M-rib Woodgrain finish, automatic door opener, and drainage included. Delivery and installation on strip foundations supplied by us.
Looking forward to tips and recommendations...
Have a nice evening...

The large garage weighs 24 metric tons - without the door, etc.

Compared to that, a basement ceiling panel is just a small item...

24 tons for a 7 x 3 m (23 x 10 ft) garage? Wow, okay, my mistake.

Yes, I was also more than surprised back then by how heavy the thing is...

So.... each half of the garage weighs 20 tons.
Today, I received a quote... €2400 (approx. $)!!! for the crane
Second quote: €1550 (approx. $)
Both for a 120-ton crane, including ballast, transportation to and from the site, and 3 hours of work.

Does anyone have experience with Alwe garages or Damit garages? Both provided good offers. Alwe advantage: Thick coating in the earth backfill area and mobile crane included. Price: 18500€.
Damit advantage: Clear garage door opening 540cm x 212cm (40cm (16 inches) wider and 15cm (6 inches) higher). Price: 17900€ + 1300€ for mobile crane = 19200€

The prices for crane assembly can be really steep sometimes. I received a quote from Rekers for a garage (6.5 x 6 meters (21.3 x 19.7 feet)) at over €17,500 plus crane assembly costs. A comparable offer from Laumer (they are local) is a bit more expensive, but they use a special vehicle that usually doesn’t require a crane.

Has anyone here ever tried negotiating? With costs close to €20,000, there should be some room for a discount.
