Hello!
We need to choose the flooring for our new apartment (about 100 sqm (1,076 sq ft)). We are thinking of porcelain tiles with a wood-look finish for all rooms. We are using a 2 cm (0.8 inch) dry construction underfloor heating system, which is why we chose this option (fast heat transfer, tiles warm up quickly). What should we pay attention to? Thickness, abrasion resistance, ... Which properties are the most important? And which are the good, recommended brands?
Thank you
Paul

There are no specifically recommended brands or manufacturers. It mainly depends on appearance and price.
Ask how often a pattern (a tile) repeats within a package. If the texture repeats too frequently, that can be problematic. Usually, price plays a role here as well—the higher the price, the more variation you tend to get. Most of the time.

For abrasion classes, simply ask which ones are suitable for living areas. Those can also be used for bathrooms.
Abrasion class 1 is only suitable for bathrooms and similar areas; in my opinion, it's not suitable for hallways. Classes 2 or 3 are generally a good choice.

Tiles must not be larger than 30 x 30 cm (12 x 12 inches) when installed on drywall (e.g., Fermacell????).

There are decoupling mats designed for this purpose, which also work well with large tiles.
