Hello, I’m Christina (new to the forum)!

We are currently building a house and, once the project is completed, are considering adding a pool in the garden. What are your experiences? Can it be done as a DIY project? What type of heating have you chosen? How did it go for you?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Christina

For your technical room, you need three-phase power for the heat pump as well as 230V for the pump, control system, and so on.
Water supply and wastewater.

Without a cover, you lose a lot of heat and also experience more water loss...
How is heat loss through the pool walls and floor actually prevented, and how is it insulated? Are there differences depending on the construction method? Our current plan includes concrete with a liner, but it is still a draft.

Insulating the pool floor makes sense. However, it is only done in higher-end projects. We insulated both the floor and the walls. I believe it is 40mm (1.6 inches) XPS.

To briefly return to my question: Would these also be the pipes/connections that it makes sense to install now, even if the pool might only be built, at the earliest, in 10 years?

If your pool will be installed in at least 10 years, I wouldn’t prepare too much in advance. Plan for penetrations from the house and large empty conduits up to the pool location. Also include a drain connection there. Later on, you can run electricity, water, and so on from these points.

A quick question: our house is finished, but the exterior landscaping has not yet started, except for the L-shaped retaining walls for securing the property.

How complex would it be to take on any necessary additional work for a pool at this stage?

Since our lot is relatively small, we would like to have a pool installed directly next to the terrace. It might sound odd, but we initially budgeted a lot more for some work than we actually needed. So now we are considering whether to pursue the dream of having a pool before it becomes too late in terms of the exterior work.
