Hello, I’m Christina (new to the forum)!

We are currently building a house and, once the project is completed, are considering adding a pool in the garden. What are your experiences? Can it be done as a DIY project? What type of heating have you chosen? How did it go for you?

Thanks in advance and best regards,
Christina

Now is the right time. You can install the necessary connections through core drilling, carry out the excavation, and so on. It won’t get any easier than this.
Once the exterior landscaping is finished, the barrier to start will be too high.

Who should I contact to arrange the installation of the connections? Does the plumber handle this .. 😳

Exactly, once the outdoor landscaping is completed, the matter is closed!

Core drilling is done either by a contractor or the shell builder. Some general contractors also handle it.
Do you want the technical installations inside the house or by the pool?
- Power supply for heat pump
- Power supply for lighting
- Power supply for pool control system
- Power supply for pump
- Power supply for dosing pumps
- Power supply for counter-current system
- Power supply for pool cover
- Electrical outlet in the pool area for pool cleaner
- Water supply for automatic top-up
- Water pressure for automatic backwash
- Wastewater connection for backwash and overflow

The equipment will no longer fit inside the house.

We don’t have a heat pump for the house...

Could you contact a local pool builder who can assess the site conditions and then determine what is feasible and, most importantly, what makes the most sense?

Yes, a pool contractor is the right contact person.
You will need a separate heating system, such as a heat pump, for the pool. The house heating system does not have enough capacity.

Has the pool already been built? It would be great to see some pictures. Inspiration is always welcome.

My wife and children also really want a pool in the garden; it would definitely be an advantage on hot days.
