ᐅ Plan – What do you think of the floor plan?

Hello everyone,

This is now our second plan, and I'm still not completely happy with it! We want an open living concept but still somehow desire a separation between the kitchen and dining area or between the living room and dining area. However, our architect thinks that a wall or a glass sliding door would make the space less attractive. I also would have liked a flat roof extension, but what would actually go in there? What do you think of the floor plan otherwise?

Best regards

Hello, no, unfortunately not yet, because the question is whether we need to completely redesign everything again :-(

Actually, I like the idea with the cloakroom. The kitchen will be large, and I want to keep the open living concept.
Unfortunately, the kitchen cannot be built as a mirror image because on the side where the living room is, we want a big window with a window seat. The drainage will also be difficult, so the bathrooms upstairs need to be redesigned, but how?! We are also extending the stonework to the left of the kitchen on the ground floor out to the dining area and will cover it with a concrete ceiling, at least that is the current plan ;-) I’m not sure if it will look good, so I’m hoping for some tips from the forum ;-)

The basement will be accessible from the outside via a staircase.

Where is the wardrobe located in the entrance area?
Why do you have to pass through the mudroom when going to the upper floor?
How do you plan to bring natural light into the hallway leading to the garage?
What is your approach to laundry management?
Why shouldn’t you be able to look outside from the dining table?
Why not from the living room either?
What is the purpose of the recesses in the exterior wall on the ground floor?
How do you intend to position your bed, and what will the access to the (parent’s?) bathroom look like? What activities are planned for this bathroom (bathroom design)?
Why is the walk-in closet designed as an enclosed room?

Since we want three children's rooms, there is no space for an additional walk-in closet! This will be solved with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes. A coat rack will be installed on the right side of the hallway for guests! Our own coat storage is near the garage, again with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes. The master bathroom will be closed off with a glass sliding door. It will only contain a toilet and shower. I definitely want a built-in bench or corner bench, so there is a solid wall for that! There can hardly be any more glass at the lower level; the kitchen and living room will be equipped with glass sliding elements! The laundry room will be in the utility room (labeled AR in the plan). The hallway will be lit with floor and ceiling spotlights. The recesses are simply a visual feature for us and also related to the dining bench, where the concrete ceiling will be extended as a canopy. What dirt zone??

You can’t say where north is in the design? Or how the roof is planned in this case? You need measurements like the knee wall height and the 2m (6.5 ft) line on the upper floor to assess whether the plan is suitable or not.

North is at the front door, west is the garage. Gable roof with a 20° (20°) pitch.
