Hello everyone,
Since I have no prior experience, I would like to get some general information.
Our new building will be heated using an air-to-water heat pump.
What would generally and overall be the advantages, potential savings, and costs of installing a photovoltaic system on the roof? Is it worthwhile or not?

The numbers don’t seem to add up overall. How large is the photovoltaic system? Besides the €43.95, do you pay any other costs for the photovoltaic system? For roughly €10,000 over 20 years, I can’t imagine there is a photovoltaic system that allows for 2700 kWh of battery discharge. The relatively low feed-in also speaks against this.
For comparison: We have a 28.4 kWp photovoltaic system with a 10 kWh battery and had 2440 kWh of discharge (and 2870 kWh of charge) in one year.

DaGoodness5 Oct 2021 14:50The system has a capacity of 10kWp. Besides the monthly fee, I don’t pay anything else. In one year, the system has produced exactly 11,000 kWh. As mentioned, I get these figures from the app, which directly accesses the storage.

RotorMotor5 Oct 2021 14:52Regarding point 1: Based on the calculation, it sounds like a great deal, but many details are missing. Which provider is it, and what are the other terms? Did you have to buy a solar panel system at double the price, for example?
Regarding point 2: As mentioned before, losses in the storage system, interest rates, and other factors are missing. Then you can quickly end up with a 15-year payback period, and if the storage system fails after that, you haven’t made any profit at all...

DaGoodness5 Oct 2021 14:58The photovoltaic system cost €9,000 (approximately $9,800).
I am, of course, always referring to net prices, since the value-added tax was refunded by the tax authorities.
So €9,000 (about $9,800) for the photovoltaic system plus €6,000 (about $6,500) for the battery storage, with a €2,000 (about $2,200) subsidy already deducted from the storage cost.
Okay… so battery losses (if the figures in my app are really incorrect) and financing costs, which would delay payback, are not included.
On the other hand, rising electricity prices over the next 15 years could accelerate the payback, although all of this is, of course, just speculation.
