Hello everyone,

Are both paintable wall liner and plastering equally suitable for a new build, or is there anything to consider?

Are there significant cost differences between paintable wall liner and plastering?

I would appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Colored paint: Photograph the color number on the mixing machine. Set it aside. This way, you can always have the shade remixed. Fill cracks with Moltofill, then repaint.

Karsten, a paint color on a wall changes over the years. Even after just half a year, touch-ups will look different and become noticeable on a neutral wall.
Also, remixes will vary. Our "silver gray" from the store looks different in two separate buckets – despite having the same color number.

We have a 5l (1.3 gal) bucket of touch-up mix. I don't see any difference compared to the first coat. Well, maybe minimal, but there is always some variation.

Just paint over it completely

Same here. After about a year, we also touched up some spots with the leftover paint. The pure white from the painter was still perfect, as were the light gray and medium gray shades. Only with the blue can you slightly notice some differences.

We plan to use painter’s fleece followed by a smooth plaster finish, as recommended by our architect. Whether the cracks will still be visible after about 5 years, I can tell you then.
Cost: approximately 4000 euros net for around 150 m² (1600 sq ft) of living space
