Hello everyone,

Are both paintable wall liner and plastering equally suitable for a new build, or is there anything to consider?

Are there significant cost differences between paintable wall liner and plastering?

I would appreciate hearing about your experiences.

Okay, then we had a misunderstanding. That is good and realistic. We were at 160 sqm (1722 sq ft) with 7,500€ net, but without Q3—that was still done by the general contractor.

Yes, if you do it without a warranty and not on an invoice, sure... You can probably save money that way

And above all, a house doesn’t get finished in just two weekends. It quickly adds up to about two weeks, and having that done reliably by a set date immediately after the house handover and before moving in is important. You probably could have saved money, but for us, it was also important that it was completed properly and that we received a warranty and an invoice.

So, we had the interior plaster applied, Baumit Filz 19. It cost about 16,000 net for 170 m2 (1830 sq ft). Then the painter came and applied two coats of white paint. The cost was 3,500 net.

It looks good, but it wasn’t exactly cheap.

I want to bring this thread back up, as we are currently facing the decision between fleece or plaster. However, we have gypsum fiber boards on the walls and gypsum drywall on the ceilings.

Our painter mentioned that with plaster, the joints are less visible under raking light. In terms of material cost, it should basically be the same whether we use fine plaster or wallpaper, which I find hard to believe. (Background: The painter is paid hourly, and we provide all the materials ourselves)
