Hello everyone,

My husband plans to paint our house himself in the spring. He has done this many times before and feels confident doing it without help. The scaffold and materials will be provided by the plasterers. The area to be painted is about 280 sqm (around 3,000 sq ft). Do you have an idea of the savings you made when you did it yourself, or what the cost was if you had it done by professionals?

Many thanks!

My quotes ranged between 8 and 9.50 €/m² (8.60 and 10.20 $/ft²). This is quite affordable for Baden-Württemberg.

The neighbor recently had this done for 2,500 euros for about 400m² (4,300 ft²), including paint and scaffolding from the friendly Sprinter driver from the Middle East 🙂

It looks good; I don’t know which cheap paint was used, but that would be more important to me.

Hmm, it doesn’t have to be cheap. Our people from the Middle East who worked here used Weber silicone resin facade white. Why? I asked, it’s expensive. Yes, but boss, it covers immediately, one thick coat, done.

Thanks to everyone first. We have about 300 sqm (approximately 3,230 sq ft) of space, as I roughly calculated. It definitely cannot be cheap paint, and for warranty reasons, we will probably buy it from the painting company that is also plastering the facade. We'll see if the effort will be worth it in the end.

For 300 square meters (approximately 3,230 square feet) with no special requests, you should expect at least 2,500 euros net, but I would generally recommend planning for 3,500 euros net.

Thanks to everyone. According to our exterior plastering company, we would save €2400 gross if we did it ourselves. The paint is very expensive, costing about €100 per bucket, and we need 8 buckets. We will definitely do it ourselves.
