Hello experts,
we have finally found a plot of land, and the planning is in its final stages.
What do you think of our floor plan? Any suggestions for improvement?
1. The plot is on a slope, which is why there is a partial basement. We actually never wanted a basement, but it makes sense here because the homeowner really wants a double garage.
2. The plot faces north at the back. The plot is 17m (56 feet) wide (building area 11m (36 feet)) and 42m (138 feet) long (building area at the front 20m (66 feet)). The road is completely on the south side, so a full south-facing orientation is not possible. The building area does not allow it. However, we don't see this as a problem and hope that the many windows will provide enough natural light inside the house.

Hello everyone,
I was on vacation, so my response is a bit delayed.
Thanks for the information regarding the roof terrace and garage. I will look into it further and, if necessary, start a separate thread. My takeaway is that, in principle, it is not a problem, but, as always, it largely depends on the quality of the workmanship.
Best regards and enjoy planning the bathroom!

We put our clothes on the toilet – that’s absolutely no problem. Spare towels can be placed over the sink or on a shelf above the door, and if the shower enclosure can be folded, you also gain more usable space.
By the way, many people dry themselves inside the shower and then wipe the enclosure dry afterward.

We have a glass partition above the bathroom. It is actually very easy to keep clean. However, I don’t use a squeegee like for the other walls, but a microfiber glass cloth. It absorbs the water well, and you don’t get any streaks at all.
Our shower on the ground floor is used quite a bit as well. When my husband’s children from his previous marriage are here, they are allowed to use the downstairs bathroom completely. It can take a while until all six people have passed through the bathroom over the weekend...
We also place laundry on the toilet. For the extra towels, I’ve installed hooks, or we use towel holders that hang on the door panel.

I actually do it inside the shower too (shower toilet on the ground floor).
Afterwards, I take the towel and dry the tiles and the fixtures. We don’t have any glass!
The towel then goes straight into the laundry, done. I wrap a new towel around my body (because of the neighbors), take my clothes, and head to the dressing room.
It could be much more practical, but we didn’t want a bigger house or to waste all our money, which we don’t have, on the house with multiple showers spread throughout.
