ᐅ One or two door dampers per Ikea door?

I’m new to the IKEA Fans Forum. My partner and I recently bought a new kitchen from IKEA. Now my question is, how many door dampers do I need per door?

What are your experiences?

I would generally recommend using 2 dampers per door, as their effectiveness tends to decrease slightly over time, making just one insufficient. The only exception is for very small doors, such as around 60cm x 35cm (24 inches x 14 inches) or similar. In those cases, doors will not close properly with two dampers.

It's best to try it out—using two dampers might make your doors close too slowly. By the way, the dampers from IKEA are quite expensive. The original Blum 973A0500 dampers are cheaper and can be found at hardware suppliers, usually starting at around 1.50 € each.

I installed only one hinge per door on 19 doors (always at the bottom, as it can be removed more quickly if needed) and it has been working without any problems for about a year!
