We specifically chose a subtle light wood decor (San Remo Oak)... but when backlit, every fingerprint is visible. Our grandson once tried erasing a spot with a rubber eraser, and that mark is now visible and cannot be removed. So far, I have tried using dish soap and a baking soda solution, but that didn’t help. It just looks duller than before. Is the countertop factory-treated with some kind of coating? I’m surprised and a bit disappointed... I never experienced this with our previous countertop.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
...any cleaning tips?

Best regards, Steffi33

Well, a few more details would definitely be helpful. What material is the board made of? Laminate, solid wood? How is it treated?

We have one like that too. However, it has a relief design. You can't see anything. Or the location was chosen so well that backlighting doesn’t stand a chance.
