Expanding the pantry is one idea. How wide do you think the pantry should be at minimum?
A kitchen cabinet or shelf is usually about 60cm (24 inches) deep. You should have about 1m (39 inches) of walking space in front of it. So, for me, 1.60m (63 inches) is a good dimension. If you want to include large appliances (freezer?), I would consider adding another 10cm (4 inches) in the plan. In the end, you also lose a few centimeters due to plaster.

Why do you question the basement?

Apparently, there is a fixed idea of how a pantry should be used. But this thought comes before considering the dimensions.

In my opinion, the pantry size is perfectly fine if you don’t put a cooling appliance inside but instead use shelves the width of the narrow side of a crate of beer, with a slightly deeper shelf at the front. The additional cooling appliance can be placed in the (laundry) basement—one appliance goes into the kitchen. A side benefit: it doesn’t unnecessarily heat up the pantry.

What is stored in the rather expensive basement?
Drinks upstairs
Freezer upstairs
Recycling bags upstairs

Condensing boiler, fuse box
Office without natural light
Washing machine and dryer not because it is practical, but because there is space

For a freezer, about 150 cm (60 inches) of clearance is comfortable. It should open without hitting your arm. Either a pantry as drawn by Kaho or, as Hampshire suggested, put it in the basement.

Be sure to take paper and pencil and draw your desired furniture or existing furniture to scale.

With SH3D you have no measurement control!

More nonsense from the ballpoint-pen analogy crowd...:

With SH3D you have everything—you just have to be honest with yourself. I measure my sofa at home—3m (10 feet)—enter 300 in the "Width (cm)" field, and done!
Or I check online for the dimensions of this or that kitchen unit—then simply transfer those to SH3D—and it fits.

Wow, indeed! The sofa is now 3m (10 feet) long. What you can do with a computer without a ballpoint pen is amazing, and tomorrow people will fly to the moon—unbelievable.
*Irony off*

Here is my constructive input.
The pantry should be 1.40m (4 ft 7 in):

Floor plan of a small living area with sofa, dining table, kitchenette, sleeping area, and doors.

So, where exactly is the problem? I even added my 3.2m (10 ft 6 in) sofa just for fun. Also, the dining table size is at the "upper limit." If you check online and want three chairs per side, you’ll often find recommendations for 1.9m (6 ft 3 in) instead of 2.1m (6 ft 11 in).

I don’t find the “overhanging” kitchen a problem either. Use underfloor heating and level the open-plan area uniformly. If you feel it lacks coziness somewhere, just add some nice rugs.
