I am new here and have a question right away. Our house (an older building) has been renovated, including the flooring. On the upper floor, we have a separate apartment (used internally) with a somewhat unusual construction. One room (1) is built on a beam structure (as is common in timber houses), while the other room (2) is on a concrete structure (which was added later). In room 1, the old floorboards were removed and replaced with a new subfloor using three-layer panels (first a battens layer, then the three-layer panels). This was done to improve stability. In room 2, the small block parquet was removed, revealing a solid concrete slab underneath. Afterwards, the parquet in room 1 was directly glued onto the three-layer panels, while in room 2, leveling compound was first used to adjust and smooth the surface before the parquet was glued directly on top.
My question is whether, from a professional point of view, an impact sound insulation should have been installed in this situation, or if the current setup is acceptable?
