I have been thinking about building an extension and then adding a pool. But the pool room is always quite humid—won't everything start to mold if it’s constantly damp?

I can well imagine that. I don’t have a pool myself, but if everything is always damp, it will certainly lead to mold. However, I think that if you ventilate properly, you can keep the problem under control.

It can’t be that every pool room develops mold; the industry must have come up with solutions for this.

I also think that the industry must have come up with something, but what exactly? In theory, they would have to be dehumidifiers, like the ones used after construction. However, they would have to be extremely powerful to remove all the moisture from the air.

I definitely have this problem; in my case, the industry has not come up with any solution. It could be construction defects, but you can clearly see mold in my pool room.

That is also my concern—that having a pool might bring mold into the house. I would rather go to a swimming pool facility instead.

There are now good solutions available. There are really powerful dehumidifiers, but the problem is that they consume a lot of electricity. Otherwise, I don’t know how to effectively manage this issue.
