Hello everyone, I hope I’m in the right subcategory here.
Here is my question: I want to run an electrical cable from the house to my garden shed. However, digging a deep trench with sand bedding is too labor-intensive for me. Is it possible to run the cable just below the surface inside a plastic conduit?
From a technical standpoint, this shouldn’t be a problem, but I’m unsure whether it’s allowed, especially regarding insurance requirements.

I buried our electrical cable 60 cm (24 inches) deep. I laid the cable on sand and removed all stones. I covered the cable with protective cable covers. This is safe and works well.

No, a mini excavator is not needed here. We’re not laying kilometers of cable, after all. I buried our cable at a depth of 80 cm (31.5 inches). With a proper mattock and shovel, it worked perfectly.

I also believe that a mini excavator is not necessary for digging the trench. It can be done with a shovel as well. We installed it at a depth of 60 cm (24 inches), so the cable is protected from frost.
