Hello everyone,
Does adding a wood fiber insulation layer above the rafters make sense for an otherwise uninsulated attic space (above two full floors)? I’m particularly interested in heat protection, etc. The top floor ceiling is going to be insulated. Thanks.
Best regards

No, the attic is too small to be used as living space. However, the idea came up to install the mechanical ventilation system in the attic and insulate the roof with blown-in insulation in addition to the top floor ceiling. That seems quite complicated to me; I would rather place the mechanical ventilation system in the basement. But that would be a separate topic again.
