there are several retrofit options for IKEA PLATSA, both from IKEA itself and from third-party suppliers. IKEA offers, for example, additional shelves, various interior organizers (drawer inserts), and lighting systems that are directly compatible.

In addition, you can find various modular organizers online that can be customized to the exact internal dimensions. These are often made of plastic or wood and provide extra storage space or better use of individual compartments.

A tip: pay attention to the exact measurements, as PLATSA’s width and depth can slightly differ from other standards. This can sometimes make it challenging to find third-party accessories.

In addition to Lotizar:

- IKEA now offers a range of drawer inserts and dividers for PLATSA, which can be used flexibly.

A few months ago, I bought several accessories directly from IKEA, including shelves and drawer inserts. Installation was very easy thanks to the clear instructions, and the quality was quite satisfactory.

On the other hand, I quickly became skeptical about third-party products because some did not fit well or simply did not match the PLATSA dimensions.

Later, I also experimented with DIY solutions (e.g., shelf inserts made from MDF), but that requires more craftsmanship.

My advice: Unless you need something very unusual, IKEA accessories are usually the best place to start.
