Hello everyone, I recently bought an Ikea Pax wardrobe and am wondering if there is an official way to view or download the instructions digitally. My idea is to go through the assembly manual in advance to better prepare myself and avoid mistakes. I was able to find some PDFs online, but I’m not sure if they are up-to-date and complete or if they cover the different versions – there are various sizes and interior configurations for Pax. Does anyone have experience with whether Ikea offers an official option for this, or if there are recommended sources for a reliable and clear digital manual? I would appreciate any tips or advice.

So, if you have a PAX wardrobe with a specific width, height, and interior layout, you should visit those specific product pages in the Ikea online shop and download the documents from there.
Another tip from me: Often, the instruction manual included in the packaging is already a comprehensive PDF that explains the assembly step by step. For more complex versions, there are usually additional sheets available on the website.
If you like, I can also explain how to decode the correct PDF using the order number, so you can search more efficiently.

Is there an official, centralized platform from Ikea where all PAX variations with instructions are collected? The answer seems to be that Ikea does not provide such a service. This could be seen as a marketing strategy: directing customers to the appropriate page depending on the product version.
On the other hand, a consolidated online catalog with all versions would be more convenient. The fragmentation makes quick access more difficult and increases the likelihood of using incorrect instructions.
It is also interesting whether these instructions are only available for download or if they are enhanced interactively through the Ikea app and even augmented reality (AR) applications. Has anyone tried this yet?
In fact:
- Official assembly instructions for PAX are available as PDFs on the respective product pages.
- To my knowledge, there is no complete, centralized document collection for all variants.
- The Ikea app provides access to many instructions, including PAX, as PDFs.
- Any new digital aids (such as augmented reality or video tutorials) are still rare and mostly spread across external platforms as of now.
My advice: Use the product code for targeted searching on the Ikea website and/or in the app. You will usually find the appropriate instructions there.
Only this way can proper preparation be ensured.

This is especially helpful when dealing with multiple versions or special configurations. A missing central directory can be compensated for this way. Additionally, I recommend reading through the instructions more than once before starting construction. This often helps identify small pitfalls that could otherwise lead to frustration during assembly.
