Hello everyone, I am currently facing the challenge of having to assemble an Ikea Brimnes wardrobe without any assembly instructions. This raises the fundamental question: Is it realistic and practical to assemble the BRIMNES correctly and safely without instructions? The wardrobe has several parts and connectors that can easily lead to mistakes or instability without precise guidance. I am particularly interested if anyone here has experience assembling Ikea furniture without instructions, possibly even specifically the BRIMNES. What tips or methods would you recommend to ensure a stable build without written instructions? I look forward to your feedback and advice!

You can assemble the BRIMNES without the manual. The key is to sort all the parts and look for obvious connection points. Usually, screws and dowels are self-explanatory. You should still allow yourself a few hours to complete the assembly.

That may be true, but I consider it a simplified view. The question is not just whether it can be assembled somehow, but whether the assembly meets the intended stability and functionality. Without instructions, an essential guide to prevent incorrect assembly is missing.

I would like to see evidence or user experiences showing that people have assembled the BRIMNES without instructions in a way that ensures it performs its purpose optimally. There is also a safety aspect, especially if sensitive components are assembled incorrectly.

Furthermore, are there differences between the various BRIMNES models that are not obvious without instructions? How can you be sure to install the right part in the correct place?

So the discussion could go deeper—just putting the cabinet together somehow is, in my opinion, insufficient.

I completely understand your concern. I often feel unsure with furniture if there are no instructions. Ultimately, it depends on how familiar you are with Ikea furniture in general. Some BRIMNES models are quite intuitive thanks to their modular design.

If you approach it systematically, that is:
- first sort all the parts,
- then roughly assemble the basic frame,
- and gradually check each connection,
you can avoid many mistakes.

Although nothing replaces a manual, patience and careful trial and error can achieve a lot. If possible, you should work with a helper, as it makes things easier and helps spot misalignments sooner.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you manage to get the wardrobe stable and wish you good luck!
