Hello everyone,
I’ve noticed that the drawers on my Ikea Malm dresser often stick or feel a bit stiff when opening. I’m wondering if this is normal for this series or if it could indicate a defect or an assembly issue.
The drawers aren’t completely difficult to open; they tend to stick occasionally, mostly in the first few centimeters (inches) when pulled out. The dresser is set up fairly straight and stable.
Does anyone have experience with Malm drawers? Is it normal for them to stick sometimes, or should I try to adjust something or consider a warranty claim?
Thanks for your insights!

One more tip: Avoid heavily loaded Malm drawers, which tend to stick more often when the weight is unevenly distributed. This is an important point. Overloading or uneven weight distribution increases friction and can warp the drawer slides or cause damage.
Additionally, it is important to ensure that the chest of drawers always stands on a level surface. Even a slight tilt can negatively affect the smooth operation of the drawers.
If these factors are considered, Malm drawers should generally function smoothly.
