ᐅ Is it acceptable to rebuild using damaged bricks?

I have a question about using damaged blocks. Here’s the situation: our exterior walls are currently being built, and quite a few damaged aerated concrete blocks (Porit plan blocks) are being used. The blocks have cracks, and in some cases, the corners are severely broken off.
The masons say these are just normal transport damages and it’s not a big issue because there is plenty of joint filler to compensate.
However, I am increasingly concerned. Is it really acceptable to use blocks like these, and what disadvantages might I face as a result? Can I report this as a defect and have the blocks returned?

When I read this, it really frustrates me. Relying on defective aerated concrete blocks to fill in is none of your business. First of all, there is no proper joint pattern, and these blocks don’t provide any structural stability. Not to mention the impact on overall structural integrity.

We had these sorted out and used them as filler material.

No, you can use the broken bricks as filler material. But they should not be used in the wall itself. Professionals do exist, which is unbelievable. They probably have never heard of structural integrity and strength.
