Hello everyone,
Has anyone here ever used an IVAR combination for a walk-in closet?
I’m trying to furnish the new house on a budget for now, and I find the natural solid wood from IVAR simply timeless and beautiful.
However, I’m not quite sure what to do with the corner. Unfortunately, the IKEA IVAR planner online isn’t very advanced. You can’t install the clothing rods (which are actually available), and the wall width is limited, which is inconvenient.

This is as far as I’ve gotten so far, but we would probably add a fifth unit.
The walk-in closet is about 4m (13 feet) wide and about 2.5m (8 feet) deep.
What I’m mainly unsure about is what to do with the corner. I would like to build around the corner with the combination, but low open shelves would probably be better there, maybe for shoes or similar items.
I’d appreciate any pictures, inspiration, or ideas.
Also happy to hear about other alternatives or systems.
Does anyone know the IVAR planner?

I find it quite interesting—why wouldn’t you buy an open system anymore, @i_b_n_a_n? I love order. Perfect order outwardly is only possible with closed storage units. By the way, loving order doesn’t necessarily lead to it. I also don’t like dusty clothes. As for dark suits, I stay away from them as much and as often as possible. However, there are a very few clients who don’t approve of my colorful Asics, jeans, and hoodie.

Oh, the issue with the window and fading is a good point :O Maybe it can be managed with anti-UV film?
I actually wanted to keep it open in any case, whether Pax, Ivar, or something else. So with drawers, but no more doors.
I had a Pax with sliding doors for 10 years, and those things are so cumbersome and always in the way. After multiple disassemblies and reassemblies (and that chaotic crew during the last move), it has lost a lot of stability and appearance. So I didn’t really want to move it again, even though it has a great layout.
Pax does have the advantage over Ivar of being at least closed on the sides. That also blocks some light. But I didn’t want another laminated particleboard piece that costs twice as much as solid wood Ivar.
I need to think about it some more.

I need to think about that again. Alternatively, a high-quality used wardrobe or wall unit on eBay Classifieds?
I have found some really great pieces there, sometimes for less than a tenth of the original price (chest of drawers 500 instead of 4600!, table 150 instead of 3500, etc.)
