Hello

In my IKEA kitchen planner, I want to include built-in cabinets that are 233cm (92 inches) tall. In one of these 233cm (92 inches) tall cabinets, I want to install a fridge/freezer combo that is 180cm (71 inches) tall. As I understand it, the freezer section requires a 57cm (22 inches) door and the fridge section requires a 125cm (49 inches) door.

Unfortunately, I haven’t found a 233cm (92 inches) cabinet with these types of doors at IKEA. See also here:
https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/Kühlschrank-frostig-bcf228-64-in-233cm-hochschrank.20382/

Now I have done some calculations:
The FA707 has doors sized 57/90/70cm (top to bottom), which total 217cm (85 inches).
I would need doors sized 35/125/57cm (top to bottom), which also total 217cm (85 inches).

Question: Is it possible to fit 35/125/57cm doors on the FA707 as well? And if so, do I need to buy the FA707 with the original 57/90/70cm doors and then additionally order 35cm (14 inches) and 125cm (49 inches) doors, or can I purchase the FA707 cabinet frame without doors and order the doors separately?

Hi,

You’re making it very simple. Just go to the supplier and order a tall cabinet 217cm (85 inches) high for the oven/fridge units. Then get doors in the dimensions you need. One pack of standard hinges, possibly with soft-close, and two packs of fridge hinges. You only need the fridge hinges if your fridge combo uses overlay hinges. If the appliance doors are mounted directly onto the unit, then you won’t need those. Also get plinth legs or freestanding legs, handles, and possibly end panels, etc. That’s it. They’ll tell you the price then.

The cabinet boxes themselves don’t care what’s installed on the front. So you can mix as you like. Whether everything fits properly in the end is another matter. In your case, it shouldn’t be a problem. Just to be safe, the cabinet doesn’t really matter what goes inside. But I’ve had a case where, due to the construction of a front-mounted appliance, there were issues opening and closing the doors. Please check with the manufacturer beforehand if any information is available on this.
