Hello everyone,

I received a personalized IKEA voucher from IKEA Wallau as part of a recent promotion when paying with the IKEA credit card. However, the voucher is only valid for about one month (June) and is linked to the card.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to remove this link? For example, if I buy something using the voucher and then return it?

The reason is that I currently don’t need anything from IKEA, but letting the voucher expire would be a pity, and passing it on is practically not possible...

I’d appreciate any help or advice.

Vouchers do not expire, definitely not after one month.

Are you referring to the "promotion card"? I believe those are valid for 6 months.

In this case, yes. IKEA Wallau had a promotion in April and, I believe, May. If you spent more than €200 (approximately $220), you received a voucher worth 10% of the purchase value after the promotion ended. However, this voucher is only valid until early July and, as mentioned, is tied to the IKEA Family payment card.

You can use this voucher at checkout to purchase a gift card. This means loading the voucher’s value onto the gift card. The gift card is not tied to any individual and does not expire. 😉

Hi,

no, you cannot redeem it. If you buy something and want to return it, you can only get your money back through the same payment method you used to purchase it. Since this voucher basically has "no cash value," you can’t expect any compensation for it. In other words, if you return the goods you bought with the voucher, you will at most receive a thank you.

Example: Pax promotion. Buy two identical Pax cabinets, get the third one free. If you want to return one because you only need two, you will get nothing. You only paid for two, the third was free and recorded as such.

Just buy yourself a nice plant, bedding, or whatever you like. It’s a gift after all, you should be able to find something! I just don’t understand why you want to keep it... 😕

Na.

PS: Buying a regular voucher no longer works with this. And I hope no employee is recommending this, because there have already been some dismissals for reasons like this!

Hi,

thank you for the replies.
I’ll head over to IKEA and spend some money then.

With around €200 (about $215), you can still buy some nice things, and the idea with the plants is a good one.
