Hello,
we are about to choose our interior doors soon and are considering brands like Jeld-Wen, Herholz, Prüm, Hörmann, and others.
We want simple white-painted doors, possibly with a few "design" stripes, and have noticed that every manufacturer offers something like this.
Therefore, we’re quite unsure which manufacturer to go for. Visually and quality-wise, they all seem to offer similar products. Should we just focus on the price? Technical details such as sound insulation ratings, weight, etc., are difficult to find online.
For example, Jeld-Wen offers the same door model in different thicknesses (43mm (1.7 inches) and 39mm (1.5 inches)): Lombardo and Lucera. But beyond that, there isn’t much more information to help decide between the two.
Can you provide any tips?

We have white Jeld-Wen doors. Great doors. You can open and close them. They come with handles as standard. And non-squeaking hinges. And when closed, you can’t see through them. Honestly, Jeld-Wen is top of the line in door manufacturing.....Sounds kind of ironic.

- Consider the type of door (rebated or non-rebated)
- Pay attention to the desired surface finish (wood, painted, coated, etc.)
- Check the door core (hollow core, solid, etc.)
- Look at the fittings (concealed or not, quality)
- Choose the lock
- Consider your budget
- Weight and sound insulation are secondary to me, as they are generally not noticeable in typical houses and apartments
My last doors in the house: Solid wood, custom-made by a carpenter, white painted, flush closing with concealed fittings (some Dutch/Belgian manufacturer) and magnetic latch locks – price about 500€ per door (2100 mm (83 inches))
My current doors in my apartment: Manufacturer SAP, white lacquered CPL hollow core, flush closing with concealed fittings from TECTUS and magnetic latch locks – price about 300€ per door including stainless steel handle sets (2000 mm (79 inches))
