Jules_89Hello Ikea fans,
I want to install my washing machine under the countertop in my new kitchen, between the sink cabinet and the oven cabinet. The machine is 85 cm (33.5 inches) tall plus about 2 cm (0.8 inches) of rubber feet (to avoid vibrations for the neighbors), 45 cm (17.7 inches) deep, and 60 cm (23.6 inches) wide. Fitting it under the countertop should not be a problem with the 80 cm (31.5 inches) tall cabinet units plus the plinth. However, I would like to hide the machine behind a cabinet door.
Does anyone have any ideas or personal experience with this? My head is spinning...
Thanks a lot for your tips!
P.S.: How much clearance should I leave on the right and left sides of the machine for spinning?

you shouldn’t need to leave any space on the left or right sides.
1) Buy the METOD cabinet carcass for a wall cabinet, cut about 10cm (5 inches) off the sides where the holes are, screw it to the adjacent carcasses, and install a door like on any other cabinet. One of the side panels might need to be shorter so the detergent compartment can be opened.
or
2) Have the panels cut from particle board, apply edge banding, and drill the hinge holes yourself.
