MichaelUU105 Jan 2026 14:07Hello everyone,
I need some advice regarding the installation of our windows.
Our windows were installed by a professional company through the general contractor.
In my opinion, the installation was done as follows:
On the outside, a compressible sealing tape / expanding foam tape was used (I believe on the sides, bottom, and top of the window).
At some windows, there is slight air infiltration.
An airtight connection of the window installation, for example, a plaster bead with a sealing lip on the window frame or an airtight connection membrane, was not installed.
Is this installation correct?

In my opinion, the installation was done as follows:
On the outside, a compressible sealing tape / expanding foam tape was used (I believe on the sides, bottom, and top of the window).
- The gaps between the window and the masonry were filled with PU foam (top, bottom, and both sides).
- Inside, a plaster bead attached to the masonry was plastered up to the window.
- After installing the exterior windowsill, another compressible sealing tape / expanding foam tape was applied.
- The exterior render is still missing, and the windowsill still needs to be installed.
At some windows, there is slight air infiltration.
An airtight connection of the window installation, for example, a plaster bead with a sealing lip on the window frame or an airtight connection membrane, was not installed.
