Hello everyone,
We recently purchased a Pax wardrobe with corner unit. Everything is assembled, but the two doors that meet at a 90-degree angle in the corner do not close properly; instead, there is a gap of about three to four centimeters (1 to 1.5 inches). It seems impossible to assemble the wardrobe or attach the doors incorrectly… So where does this gap come from? Does anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks in advance!
Best regards

3-4 cm (1.2-1.6 inches) is quite large.
Is the weatherstripping installed on the door without the handle?
Are the thick bumpers used?
Are the hinges adjusted so that both doors are positioned as close to the corner as possible?

Hello Ikea expert,
thank you for your reply. The buffer and sealing strip haven’t been installed yet. But at least the strip won’t make much of a difference since it is very narrow. As a temporary solution, we have also considered adjusting the hinges so that the doors no longer align flush with the side panel on the hinge side. However, that’s not really ideal. And when I look at the example photos on Ikea’s website, it doesn’t seem like it should be that way... A call to Ikea revealed: A gap? That can’t be. I’ll probably take a photo as evidence and then go to Ikea...
Kind regards

Fan_aus_Köln2 Sep 2012 13:43Hello,
Yesterday I assembled the new six-sided Pax corner cabinet with my trusted carpenter, and we encountered the same problem. What is very odd here is that this new corner solution is not shown online at IKEA at all. We also wondered whether there are special doors for the corner cabinet. On each side, about 8mm (0.3 inches) are missing when we center the door. Not exactly ideal; -(((
