Hi,
something that has bothered me for a while is that the half-height (1.06m (3.5 ft)) Oxberg doors are only available with a wooden panel and not in glass like the full-sized doors. The Morliden doors are not an option for me because they don’t match the rest of the design.
Now I had the idea to modify the large Oxberg doors so they would fit the smaller Billy units. A measurement showed that the doors are asymmetrical, with one section measuring 97cm (38 inches), which matches the smaller doors, and the other section 100cm (39 inches). The two hinge holes are located in the 97cm (38 inches) section as well.
In theory, it should be quite simple to cut the door accordingly. Has anyone tried this before or can provide any advice on this project?

The problem seems to be that, according to Ikea, it is not solid wood framing but veneered particleboard; the cut edges in the frame would therefore be visible.
Best regards,
IKEA-Freund
