woogenzippe15 Aug 2014 18:28Hello,
I’m on vacation starting today and determined to use this time to finally install my Faktum kitchen, which we bought back in January. However, I just noticed on IKEA’s online site that Faktum has been replaced by Metod, and the Metod wall cabinets are mounted on hanging rails. I would like to hang my Faktum cabinets on the wall using the same method.
Now comes my problem or question: Can I purchase the mounting brackets (hangers) that come with the Metod wall cabinets separately, so I can install them on my older Faktum cabinets?
I have spent three hours today searching the IKEA online pages to find out, but without any success. Even "Anna" couldn’t help me with part number 124516, which I found in the downloadable instruction manual. Calling customer support was also unsuccessful, as they were reportedly experiencing technical difficulties today.
I hope someone here can answer my question.
Thanks in advance from a homeowner.

IKEA-Experte15 Aug 2014 18:43Hello, no, you cannot buy them. At best, you could get them through customer service, but then you face the problem that the drilling holes in your cabinets won’t match. You would have to drill the holes for the brackets in the side panels yourself, and do so very precisely. It would be helpful to have a large CNC machine, because otherwise it’s almost impossible to get it right and it would take forever. If the brackets are not positioned exactly the same, the cabinets will hang crookedly on the rail, as there is no way to adjust them afterward.
So, long story short: forget the rail!

So, long story short: forget about the rail!Hello IKEA expert,
thank you for the quick response. Your explanation makes sense to me now, and I know I don’t need to worry about it anymore. I just thought the system might be quite practical if you ever wanted to move a cabinet later on. But well, then I will do it the conventional way. Have a nice and sunny weekend.
