Hello everyone,
I have purchased the Hemnes display cabinet with 3 drawers (90 cm (35 inches) wide) and the Hemnes cabinet with paneled/glass door (also 90 cm (35 inches) wide) for my living room wall. Between them is the wider version of the Hemnes TV bench, measuring 183 cm (72 inches), and above it, I would like to mount the Hemnes wall shelf, also 183 cm (72 inches) wide.
Now to my question:
Since I don’t fully understand the instructions, I hope someone can help me with how exactly to attach the wall shelf. I understand that the shelf needs to be fixed to the cabinets on the left and right using the included brackets, but do I also need to secure the wall shelf to the wall afterward? The assembly manual has a warning sign and a note on page 22. Does this mean that the brackets must also be attached directly to the wall? According to Ikea, it is sufficient to fix the smaller Hemnes wall shelf (149 cm (59 inches) wide) only to the cabinets, but since the larger shelf is quite heavy, I don’t want to make any mistakes. Could someone please advise me? I would really appreciate any help.
Best regards,
Markus
