ᐅ Ikea Hemnes Chest of Drawers – Unstable Drawers

Hello,
I am looking for a black/dark dresser. Actually, the large Hemnes dresser with 6 or 8 drawers would be ideal, but I have noticed several times that the drawers in the Hemnes series are quite loose. Especially compared to Nordli, where the drawers close quietly and feel much sturdier.

Is there anything that can be done about this? Unfortunately, Nordli is not available in black, otherwise the choice would be clear.

NORDLI is made of particleboard, while HEMNES is made of solid wood. The drawers in HEMNES may feel less stable because they use roller drawer slides. This is not necessarily a disadvantage, and replacement parts will still be available after several years if something breaks. NORDLI uses (not very high-quality) undermount slides. Finding suitable replacements for these can be much more difficult.
Soft-close mechanisms are available as an upgrade for roller slides, but they do not improve the lateral stability.

You could put together a METOD cabinet as a chest of drawers.
