Hello,
I’m looking for help assembling my Hemnes display cabinet and came across this forum... maybe someone here has had similar experiences.
We bought two display cabinets, and assembling the first one went well except for the usual IKEA issues, such as receiving the wrong parts in the package, which we had to have replaced. But the cabinet is now standing and looks good.
However, with the second one, the doors are really crooked. The right door is higher on the inside than on the outside, and the left door is lower on the inside than on the outside. It looks terrible, of course.
We tried adjusting the hinges quite a bit (raising and lowering the doors, using the screw for horizontal adjustment to try setting the top and bottom differently to change the door’s tilt)… but all that only brought minimal improvement or just made the crookedness worse in other places.
I’m quite at a loss as to what might be causing this or how to fix it.
Any help is much appreciated.

IKEA-Experte1 May 2012 21:45If doors are significantly misaligned from their intended position, this is usually due to a warped cabinet frame. Before nailing on the back panel, it is always advisable to check the corners for squareness using a square or, if necessary, a large set square.
Try grabbing the cabinet at a top corner and push or pull it backward, forward, or sideways. If you notice any movement, adjusting the height of one of the legs may help achieve the desired alignment.

Timmermann20 Jun 2013 18:22I have now used the assembly service for the first time. Our display cabinet doors were also completely warped. The next technician also couldn’t fix it but then identified the problem: the doors are not glued. Today we received a call that deliveries in Germany have been stopped until further notice. Apparently, an entire batch is affected, and there is also a safety risk. New doors will be supplied from Sweden. So contact IKEA and report your doors.
