I have a question regarding IKEA Besta – specifically about the issue of warping in doors and fronts. I have several Besta cabinets at home where the fronts no longer close flush after some time, with some warping or slight waviness appearing.
I am interested in how to best prevent this. Are there known reasons why these fronts warp? Is it due to assembly, the material, humidity, or other factors?
Also: Are there any tips or proven methods for attaching the doors, handling the hinges, or maintaining the fronts to avoid this warping?

Warping of Besta doors usually occurs due to moisture and temperature fluctuations.I completely agree – moisture is the hidden enemy of the otherwise very practical Besta fronts. And as long as you don’t overdo it with shower steam or hot soup right next to them, that already helps a lot.
One more tip from me: don’t adjust the doors too tight or too loose – a little bit of play is essential. Otherwise, the doors will act up like unruly kids 😄

A quick follow-up question: You mention a humidity range of 40-60%. I live in an apartment where in winter it often drops to just 30%. Would you recommend using a humidifier in that case — or are there other negative effects on furniture like Besta fronts from dry air besides cracking?
Do you or anyone else here have tips on the best way to adjust the doors during fine-tuning? I often see small adjustment screws, but is there a recommended sequence to follow? And are there areas where it’s better not to turn too much?
